hello VJ's

I need your help:

1.where can i find the link for atlanta field office to find out the wait time for FP and interview once the N400 is mailed.

2. I am applying N400 based on 3 yrs as LPR married to US citizen, so regarding the evidences, is it enough that i send some of the bank statements spanning the last three years , apart from the marriage certificated and tax transcripts.

I just want to make sure that my daughter who is 12 yrs old now and an LPR need not have to file N400- , she can apply for passport once i get the citizenship- is that correct?

thanks in advance

#1 - go to the Processing Times button on the top nav and select Atlanta; http://www.visajourney.com/content/times

You could also look back at past filers threads to see how long most people have waited - it's about a month for biometrics but the wait between biometrics and your interview varies by location

#2 - read the guides (top nav) - yes you need tax transscripts but you need other supporting evidence as well.

Correct - your daughter is not apply for N400 - once you receive your citizenship, she acquires citizenship through you.

It takes about 4 months from start to finish.

You don't need to enclose any evidence that you are still married.

Your daughter will automatically become a U.S. citizen when you become one. She cannot apply for a passport because she is a child. You can apply for a passport for her when you apply for yours (absolutely apply for book and card!).

The fee for the N-400 is $680.

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic . . . . There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.

Joint lease or home deed is a definite or at least an explanation that you are living with your spouses parents or something to that effect. To ease the possibility of both you and your spouse making a return trip to explain it. The more joint evidence you have, the better, never know about your IO.

With a child under 16, proof that child is yours needs to be provided for the DOS. If say the child has the biological parents name, need yours and the child's birth certificate, your previous marriage and divorce papers to trace your new married name to your child's name. Also need permission for a US passport from that other biological parent for a child under 16 years of age. Should already have that when you brought the child over here, or proof that you have full sole custody of the child. Plus your proof of US citizenship of course.

All of this stuff is written for required evidence, but may get an IO that has an unreasonable doubt and request even more, just a question of risk. Maybe not bad if you live across the street from your field office, but can be an inconvenience if you live hundreds of miles away.
