FRAMINGHAM, Mass. (AP) - President Barack Obama's uncle has completed a brief appearance in a Massachusetts court on a drunken driving charge.

A Framingham District Court judge on Thursday scheduled Onyango (ohn-YAHN'-goh) Obama to return to court Nov. 17.

Obama and his lawyer refused to comment outside court.

He pleaded not guilty after he was arrested last month in Framingham. Police allege he registered a reading of 0.14 percent on a blood-alcohol breath test, above the state's legal driving limit of 0.08 percent.

Obama, originally from Kenya, is the half-brother of the president's late father.

He was initially held without bail on a detainer from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials on allegations he violated an order to return to Kenya. He was released and ordered to regularly check in with immigration officials.
