Hello everyone,

I am a newbie and i have a lot of queries in my head and need some answers..

1. My husband filed I 130 last august and got the NOA1 through email and snail mail. Is I 130 same with CR1 / IR-1 visa??

2. How long will it take for it to be approved?

3. Is it true that if the petitioner in the military they are the priority ones?

Hope to hear from all of you soon. Thank you. God Bless us all.

1. They are related. The I-130 is the form the petitioner (your husband) fills out to petition for you. One it is approved, you then apply for the CR-1 visa.

2. Usually 9-12 months from sending in the I-130 to interview.

3. Only if he is about to be deployed, he can ask for an expedite.

Yes, you will be applying for the CR-1, or IR-1 if married more than 2 years.

Welcome to VJ! BTW, to help you better with any future questions, and estimate when you get NOA2 etc, it would be really helpful if you filled in your timeline.
