Did you even bother to read the second sentiment I expressed in my post? It's a lumping together of different nationalities, which is actually kind of ridiculous. Go ask a third generation Mexican-American what he thinks he has in common with a recent immigrant from El Salvador.

So perhaps you would support an Arayan celebration month? Is that what you are saying?

There's a growing Stormfront on VJ. They don't even try to hide it.

Do you actually know any Americans of Hispanic origin? I mean, not like, oh, Juan who does my garden? Seriously, most of us brown (or brownish) folks have nothing to do with the more radical elements of "brown power" -- just like your European-Americans don't with the radical white power fringe. But then again, you probably see brown people under the bed these days, now that Reagan eradicated the Red Menace single-handedly, no?

Honestly, one would think you were all for fomenting greater separatism between communities in this country rather than bringing us all together as a united and harmonious nation.

We also went to celebrate the Oktoberfest at our parish church a few weeks ago. The music was Italian, the food was mostly Mexican, and the beer was from the local microbreweries.

Italian music and Mexican food at an Oktoberfest celebration? That's blasphemy is what that is.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

Seeing how Chinese food and pizza is the big thing in this house on Christmas I can't really much on it.

Perhaps we have some misunderstanding here, when I suggested Whites or people of European decent will realize they too have interests they want represented, you seemed to have a knee-jerk response, even throwing out terms such as "White power fringe", I wonder why that is?

Why is it when Hispanic (and others) have groups sometimes even supported by tax dollars whose primary purpose is to do EXACTLY what I said... for other groups such as Hispanics?

when these exist, you have no problem... But holly molly someone suggest whites enjoy the same collective power and some see red.

Now if you, as a Hispanic get to enjoy the benefits of the Hispanic Congressional Caucus , and the Political power they yield...why can't I have a similar body for me and my interests?

Here, Lets see what this tax payer supported body is all about:

The Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC) comprises 21 Democratic members of the United States Congress most of whom are of Hispanic origin. The Caucus is dedicated to voicing and advancing, through the legislative process, issues affecting Hispanics and Latinos in the United States and Puerto Rico.

You also wrote this: Honestly, one would think you were all for fomenting greater separatism between communities in this country rather than bringing us all together as a united and harmonious nation.

How is what I said "fomenting" anything but peaceful dialogue?

In my life I am all about people being kind and respectful to each other, thats how I live my life, but I am under no compulsion to artificially "bring people together". People who want to join together are free to do so and those who choose not to join with others should be free as well, we can see examples of this in communities every where, in fact.... if you look at most aspects of public life from PLaces of worship, bars, Musical and cultural events, places where people freely go, often times... if not most of the time, they are not very well integrated....and whats wrong with that?

One of the reasons I enjoy hanging out here at VJ is because there is a nice mix of views and people, most of them I like...and many of them I have learned things from.

Diversity of ideas has great meaning, diversity of color, not so much.

Bottom line, ALL GROUPS OF PEOPLE should be free to form representative organizations to peaceably further their interests if they want to..... and as it is right now,

there is only one group thats not.

In fact, to even mention the idea.... brings out the typical reply of -Storm Front-White Supremacy-KKK and on and on in an effort to silence others.

Sorry, I won't be silenced (Except by the Mods)

Im all for celebrating Hispanic Achievement in America, I join with you n that, Cheers.
