Hi,

I am sponsoring my Canadian wife I am a USC. I make around $50k here in Canada as a freelance contractor. I'm not sure that I can prove that I will make that when I move down to the States, although I probably will because my current clients will most likely send me work still.

My question is should I have my father who is retired be a joint sponsor? His household income is 125% greater than the poverty line for his household (including my wife). The thing is that it is with my mother's income as well—they file jointly.

Do any of you see this as a problem? I just don't want to fly my wife out to Quebec only to get rejected and have to do it all over again.

Thanks!

Joe
