NVC Case Number and IIN Given on the Same Day?

My husband and I are at the NVC stage of our CR1 visa application process. Got our NOA2 on Sept 9. Case received by NVC on Sept 12. I called NVC today, and we finally have a MNL case number. The girl I spoke with said our case was just entered into their system. After she gave me the MNL number, I asked her for the IIN, and she didn't seem to have any idea what I was talking about. I told her it was the invoice number, and she said, in an amused tone, that it was too soon for us to have that number. She said it would be sent to us via email, in 10-20 days. Now, does that sound right? I've seen on some people's timelines here that they received their NVC# and IIN on the same day. Is that right, or should I really wait for an email? I think the girl from NVC was wrong, but I didn't want to argue with her because I wasn't sure myself. Should I call back and bug them about our IIN? Any input would be appreciated, thanks!

You sometimes get a person who either doesn't know or just wants to make your life a little bit harder. You normally will get both at the same time. In our case, the woman told us both before we even had time to ask--that's the norm--you just got a stinker. Call back right now--they are open until midnight eastern time !!!

Call back and ask for the invoice id number. I got ours on the same day as the MNL number, the only problem was they did not give me the full iin and left a number off so when you call and ask make sure you double check the number they give you so its complete.

I got both today, too. In fact, they gave me a beneficiary idn too.

Hi, everyone! Thanks for the responses! Less than 24 hours after the call, my husband and I received an email from NVC, containing the MNL#, IIN, Beneficiary ID#, AOS bill, and DS-3032, so I didn't need to call back.

I was thinking that while talking to her, but I wasn't sure, so I let it go. She did come through in the end, I guess, because we received an email from NVC within 24 hours. But thanks!
