The person that took my second set of prints said she didn't think they were any better than the first set. She had no idea what they would do, only that they would not ask me to go all the way back to TN a third time. What they will do, if they ever get to my application, and the second set are deemed not clear enough, is send me and RFE for the police clearance. That will be awkward, as I am not in the state that I live in at the moment, my husband is still an outpatient here in TN following his liver transplant. We may be here well into October as things stand at present.

I just received an email today (Aug 6) regarding the approval of my card!!!!! I just spoke with my lawyer too on Friday regarding the processing times and told me everyone is backed up.

For those that are waiting, stay positive! Also, from my knowledge if you have not received your approval by the time the extension expires, you can apply for Citizenship (married to USC only). I was also informed if you don't want to apply for Citizenship and have not receieved your card, they will stamp your passport for an extension of 6/months - 1/yr until a decsion is made.

I don't remember exactly when I sent out the package but I do have the dates for the Bio.

I was scheduled for the Bio on 11/25 but resheduled and did the Bio on 12/15/11.

Updating my actual date on letter (7/24 vs. 7/27 on email). We were able to get back in the country at ATL POE without too much hassle. Although the officer looked at hubby's extension letter and said "You've had this for almost a year and it still hasn't been approved?" as if it were our fault. I told him it had actually been approved while we were gone but the card was waiting for us at home and I could show him the approval email if he wanted, but he didn't ask for it. They drive me crazy! Glad we are good for 10 years! The new gc is pretty and a lot different!

Anyone know what "New Classification Symbol: IF1" means?

So I received this beautiful three blue pages stating "USCIS has been unable to obtain a required FBI criminal background clearance for you because both sets of FP were rejected as unclassifiable by the FBI"

Submit the following evidence instead of a FINGERPRINT clearance to satisfy the criminal background check requirement:

1. Your own signed affidavit regarding criminal history supported by police clearances or police records from each place you resided from the date you acquired conditional PR status to the date of this request.

No fingerprint is required and what I need is to write my own signed affidavit-no notarized is required. Is that correct?

2. ...

3. Locally issued police clearance instead of state issued police clearance. You are required to submit locally issued police clearance from localities that do not offer state issued police clearance.

The cities I was in previously do not issue the police clearance (they are in the same county though) but I can get the police clearance from the county sherrif office instead. Is the county police clearance will be ok / accepted by USCIS ?

Not sure if I mentioned this earlier or not but Phil and I found a place in NY and we are moving Sept 1st! We're very excited It feels like we're starting fresh with USCIS being over with, starting new jobs and moving closer to family. All good things!

Hopefully after you're through this step you will get your approval and GC quickly! I'm not sure about the county clearance's so hopefully someone else can shed some light on that!

Just heard from a friend of mine. She filed December 4th, and she just got her ten year card. Also with VCS.

You know, I was wondering what happened to your approval... You and Shannon&Nick are the last to be approved without hearing anything else (everyone else has a pending RFE, FALOAK is waiting on fingerprints and Mrs. Palmer hasn't signed in in almost a year...)

Maybe it's time to put in that call and ask to speak with a level 2 officer? Tell them people who filed in Dec are getting approved and ask about your application. It's sitting in some pile somewhere there..they just need to look through and stamp APPROVED on it!
