Ok... Since VSC is taking to damn long to process our paperwork... This is a question for citizenship.

If we haven't heard from VSC nor get approved yet and we hit the 90 day marked to be eligible for citizenship, can we go ahead and file another paperwork for N-400?

Yes you can, it will force them to adjudicate the I-751.

I've seen a few people get fed up and go this route. When does the 90 day eligibility kick in? Not sure how to work out that calculation.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

From your timeline, your AOS was approved on 11/17/2009.

If this is in fact a date for "Resident Since:" on your green card, then you will be eligible to file N-400 on 8/19/2012.

My GC indicates I become LPR 11.12.2009, so that means anytime around August, I can file my N-400? Correct?

Petitioner (My Mom)

Beneficiary (My Sister 18 y.o)

06-07-19- Sent I-130

06-11-19- NOA1

02-19-20- "Initial Review, Transferred to another Visa Center"

03-11-20- APPROVED!!!

There is an additional wrinkle: if you received your GC within 90 days of being married, then you'll have to wait until your 3rd wedding anniversary before you can file your N-400.

You can file your N-400 90 days before you've been a permanent resident for 3 years, but you have to have been married for 3 years at the time you file. If you got your GC more than 90 days after you married, then the distinction doesn't matter. But I got my GC within 90 days after I got married, so I have to wait until after my 3rd wedding anniversary before I can file my N-400.

DON'T PANIC

Thanks, I forgot about that... but in case of both members who asked, they will have more than 3 years of marriage at that time according to their timelines.

Hope everyone had a great Easter weekend! Sorry to see no more approvals, there's really only 1 more CSC approval we're waiting on since wasabi and STINKERPOTSAM are waiting on RFEs....

EOS38: Last Active: Dec 10 2011 05:32 PM Hmm, wonder if they've gotten their approval.

Hope you had a good weekend as well:) It is indeed interesting that the small sample population of I-175 applicants that is present here shows so clearly how much more efficient CSC seems to be.

I am also sad to report that the "currently processing" date for I-175 is still June 20th at VSC.. I have been checking the "currently processing" date daily (yeah, I am pretty desperate..;) )and it has not changed for couple of weeks... seems like I have been looking at USCIS (previously INS) website for one or another reason for the last 10 years because I had different visas in the past: B2, J1, F1 and also went through journey of getting conditional GC after marriage. How amazing the day will be when I can forget all about USCIS website..

EDIT: just had a "duh" moment after I read the small print on USCIS website that processing dates are updated monthly on or about 15th... :) looking forward for the new update in a couple of days.

I do hope they update it on time this month!

Wonderful news my VJ friends. My wife's Green Card was approved. Just received a letter today saying the decision was made on 4/10/12. So it took them one week from the date of receiving my reply to make their decision. If you look at my timeline you can see this is identical the time frame when we last had an RFE. What a relief!
