That's the truth for sure :) All the same I find it a slow and cumbersome way to do things, and in much need of a revamp.

It all seems so unnecessarily repetitive to me. By the time we get as far as we have into the process of immigration it seems a bit silly to start back at the beginning. We have completed the K1 process, the NVC process (we were there in extra checks for nearly 8 weeks) the consulate interview process, the AOS process, so you would believe we had clearly established that we are not criminals for heavens sake. They must keep it all on file, so why ask for it all again?!? Having sent them a copy of our 2 year cards, with photo and fingerprint on it, could someone not please take it as read that we have already passed all this scrutiny? Does every man and his dog need to run this again?

It does seem repetitive. I understand why they need to check the validity of a relationship again for conditional GCs but it doesn't make it any less frustrating! After going through this whole process, I see why people take the "easy way out" and just stay in the US illegally. I would never and could never do that because I'd live in constant fear that my husband would be deported any day and I'll be glad we did it the right and legal way once we have his 10 year GC in hand! It's the waiting that gets to me..

I agree with you. It is annoying to have to prove your relationship is "real" so often. Three times in 3 years?

We will most likely apply for citizenship just so that we never have to do this again if we leave the country.

NOA 2. Really?

I'm sorry it's taking so long :(

Looking at our timeline for October, it looks like it's about a month between filing and getting an appointment. I know you're over a month now since your file date so I am hoping it comes this week for you!

Hopefully! If not, you can start calling after Wednesday (which of course brings us to a holiday, but being that the offices are open to do biometrics on Friday then you should be able to call Friday if you haven't gotten your appt letter yet - I assume they're only closed Thursday). They won't field phone calls until 30 days after the NOA date. Also, make sure the resident is the one who calls or is at least present to give the person on the phone permission to talk to you about their case.

Actually you will need the physical appointment letter to do early bio-metrics. They stamp & sign the letter to serve as your proof that you completed bio-metrics.

Based on your timeline you should be receiving your appointment letter any day now. How soon will you be travelling? Will there be someone who can check your mail while you're away?

Bob, I am not planning to go over there to New Orleans and travel 3 hrs not having a Hard Copy of my Bio letter. I know it's going to be a waste of time.

I am traveling on the 13th and will be back on the 30th.. So I am starting to feel leery that I will have my bio appt any day on those days I am not in the US, then I would have to re-schedule my appt, then that would be another waiting #######.. plus as If I can easily take off from school since I am in my clinicals for Nursing class.

I am just starting to feel overwhelm on what to expect. Maybe I'm just over reacting but I am kinda ADD on these stuffs.

Thanks Becca.

I am using my in law's addy for all my immigration process and I gave her a heads-up on how imp that notice is, so she told me as soon as she got the letter, she's gonna let me know.

I will def go for an early bio if I ever receive it this week.

Is it possible to receive an RFE if there is something wrong on our papers before the BIO appt?
