"White" has become a catch all race in the US. I was discriminated against as a non-White child, now I'm White, in the eyes of others. I don't consider myself to be White, but the government does.

we still discriminate against you, don't feel bad. :P

One of the reasons I voice out my opinions on illegals so much. We need as many "Americans" fro many of the Americas in our country as possible. 90%+ of Mexico, Central America, and South America is Catholic. It's the lesser of 2 evils I think for the majority of folks in the US, regardless of their religion. We can either be a country overrun by Muslims over the next 20-30 years and we and our kids will be answering to Allah lovers or we can let in as many folks from south of the border as humanly possible and be a dominantly catholic society in 20-30 years. Take your pick. I vote catholic. I have no prejudice against Muslims, I just prefer to see as few of them as possible in the US as I know one day we will be looking up to them if we don't continue to have an open border to our neighbors down south. It's actually quite scary to think about. I don't think people actually even realize this as they go on thier "kick out all the illegals" rants. What they are really saying is I want to be controlled by Muslims in 20 years.

A bigot is someone who is intolerant to any other belief, religion, race, etc other than his own. I'm actually probably one of the most tolerant people you could know. I'm game for anyone and anything. Open borders? sure, why not. I think everyone should just be happy and not worry about others. The problem that occurs when one thinks about muslims is their agenda. I liken a muslim to a jehova's witness. It's ok if there are a few of them in the school or workplace, and I'll just keep my distance. That's not going to be possible in 20 years.

Republican? Ha, I think I agree with a lot more domocratic policies than republican policies. In fact the only thing I think I've ever liked about the Republican party is how it affects my pocketbook. I'm in my 40's and yet to vote. I have registered to vote as Ron Paul has more ideas that I think would help this country tremendously then any other presidential candidate I have seen in my lifetime. So <yawn> since I've never voted in my life and I plan on voting for the first time ever if Ron Paul is on the ticket then I guess that means I'm a Republican, no?

You must be a Republican.

Bigoted, yes. My right to opinionate what I don't want to see in our future.

Question for you? What sort of discrimination do you see among musmlims applying at universities and/or private day schools, etc? I'm just curious.

Ready to do it has made that clear.

No reason in particular. I'm just curious to know whether they are

a) discriminated against, or

b) opposite... considered a URM (Under-represented minority, if their roots tie back to a muslim country), or

c) none of the above.

Why?

I went to the University of Michigan-Dearborn. It was an excellent university. Very diverse. Everyone got along fine. No discrimination at all there. The city of Dearborn is about 1/3rd Arab. Not sure the demographics of the school though...

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."
