You cannot do a walk in without a biometrics appointment and appointment letter.

When you have the letter with your appointment you will have the address and you can attempt a walk-in early appointment.

Nearly there, and for those who are just starting the k1 it is a long wait but once it is over the time feels well spent

It depends on the office. You need a letter with an appointment time, however. If you have no letter you cannot even attempt a walk-in. Once you have a letter with an appointment time, if you do not want to wait, you can go to an office and try to get it done earlier. Some allow it, some will tell you absolutely not. You won't know until you try.

Koshka, if you're willing to drive the distance (not sure how far you are located), the Alexandria (VA) office is notoriously easy for walk-ins. :)

I got my appointment letter for Elizabeth, NJ. Since Elizabeth is a pain to get to, I walked in to the New York Office almost 3 weeks before my appointment. Had no problem getting by the initial security and the guy who finally ended up taking my fingerprints and photos asked my why I went to a different office on the wrong date. I told him; because Elizabeth is a pain for me to get to - he was ok with that explanation, even though he said they usually do not allow it. Guess it depends on the person.

It is always worth a try - just make sure you bring your letter and ID.

We successfully did a walk-in at the Philadelphia office. We went at 3:30pm on a Friday and there was no one there. We went three weeks earlier than my scheduled appointment and there was no problem at all. They didn't even ask why we came earlier. Very pleasant office.

Very true zabraden, philadelphia asc is a very cool place for walk-ins. We were scheduled at Elizabeth on 05/14 but due to wife's travel plans, had to try for walk-in at Elizabeth, but denied there coz the manager there is very strict and do not allow walk-ins. Then, we decided to go to Phily right away and got everything done in 15 mins. Hope there are no issues by choosing other center.

It should be noted that it has been proven many times that doing an early walk-in does not speed up your process. It does get the appointment out of the way and let you get on with your waiting, though. :)

I did my early walk-in the day before because I didn't want to get up as early as my appointment wanted me to, and I had folks in town visiting...it was just more convenient.

They had no problem with it here - the security guard just leaned back into an office behind him and asked if I could.

Just don't expect to fast forward your process.
