Two questions. ANY feedback will be appreciated.

1. I know for the adjustment of status a birth certificate in required. My It states that the birth certificate has to be translated to English. Is it required to have this done by a professional l?? Or can I do this??? I speak pretty good english. Does anyone have any samples they could share.

2. On form I-864 .Question 25. Which box do i check? none? Graduated school in June 2010 and started working. I will be making over the poverty limit, but for 2010 I reported I made below the poverty limit because I worked only in the end of that year. This is my first job and I did not file or work previous years. So i will put "0" for those years???? I will have a co sponsor as well. Just as back up.

Please help! Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hello,

Regarding your question number one if you are having your interview and your whole process done In Juarez its not nesessary to have your birth certificate translated. It states (am not sure what web page) that if your birth certificate is in any other language other than English or Spanish you need to translate it otherwise you dont. So basically you dont have to translate it.

I dont have an answer to your 2nd question and I dont want to make any guesses but I can tell you that if you have a joint sponsor who can support you and her dependednt you shpuld be ok.

Hope this helps. Any other questions please feel free to ask.

You can translate it yourself. Add to it at the bottom...

I, (your name) certify that I am competent in the English and (other language) languages and that this is a true and correct translation of (name of document). Translated from the original on (date)

Your name

your address

your phone number

signature.

They go by CURRENT income, not last years income. State your current income. If you got a job paying $60,000 per year yesterday, your current income today is $60,000 per year.

There is no specified format.

Alla does a lot of translations and usually follows the format of the original document and even adds "symbols" to represent the official stamps and seals and notes inside this symbol what it is, for example a circle with the words inside "seal of Donetsk Oblast" or whatever it is. You do not have to copy the exact words in the seal or stamp, just state what it is.

It is not necessary to translate word for word, and usually it makes no sense if you do, given grammar differences between languages. Translate accurately, not literally. "Banco Federale de Mexico" may turn out as "Federal Bank of Mexico" for example.

Any two or three translators may translate the document in two or three ways with two or three sets of words. That is not critical. What is important is that your translations conveys the meaning and dates of the document accurately. Birth certificates are pretty easy actually. Divorce orders can get a bit more messy.
