Case Completed at NVC on Sept 22 but no SIF

Per AVR and also confirmed with operator, our case was completed last Thursday Sept 22 but for some reason I am still able to log into the payment portal. Is this normal? Anybody experiencing same thing? I spoke with operator and was told that they are waiting to schedule interview but looks like October is already full.. I am hoping that she is WRONG because I really wish the interview could be next month, plus there isn't a lot of movement at the Embassy in Paraguay and things usually run pretty quickly..

11-01-2011: Interview at 2:30PM. APPROVED!!!!!!!!!!

11-02-2011: VISA picked up

11-10-2011: POE: Washington DC

Another question I have is, is the package sent to Embassy first and then we get interview date? or is it the other way around. I just went to the DHL for tracking and there is a package that went out to Paraguay on Monday and I don't even want to think that, that could be our package!!

For the past month or so I have been hearing that people are not getting SIF even once their case is confirmed closed by AVR and NVC operator. I believe that the packages aren't sent out to the embassy until after the interview appointment has been made. :)

Don't worry about not having a SIF. As long as the AVR and operator have confirmed case complete, that's all that matters. Some people get the SIF, some others don't. Just don't worry about it.

And never listen to the operators when they say so-and-so month is full. They just start saying that like half-way through the previous month. So if someone were to call mid-way through October, practically all the operators will say November is full. They're just reading from a script. The only way you'd know for sure is if the operator actually took the time to CHECK if October is really full or not. Otherwise, just take what they say with a grain of salt.

Another question I have is, is the package sent to Embassy first and then we get interview date? or is it the other way around. I just went to the DHL for tracking and there is a package that went out to Paraguay on Monday and I don't even want to think that, that could be our package!!

NVC will schedule the interview date first, then either the next day or a few days later, they'll ship the case out. If you listen to the AVR or ask an operator, they'll tell you what date the case was shipped out.

So, unfortunately, your case isn't in that package you saw.

Correct. We, who have interviews scheduled can still login to payment portal. Some of us now getting AVR message changed from "You case was closed...." to "Your case has been transferred to...", looks like in the order to case closed.

USA

01/08/13 - Approved and GC is order for production on 1/8/14

09/12/13 - Case transferred to CSC. NOA2 received on 09/18/13

08/30/13 - Biometrics Done - No walk ins allowed at this LSC (received on 8/16/13).

08/05/13 - NOA1 (received on 08/10/13)

08/01/13 - Mailed I-751 (received on 8/2/13 - check cashed on 8/5/13)

12/28/11 - Received SSN (applied on 12/20/11, as we didn't get based on DS-230 options)
11/28/11 - Received Green Card (Expires on 10/30/13) - Welcome Letter on 11/17/11
10/30/11 - POE - Houston, TX

Chennai Consulate (40 days)
10/28/11 - Received Visa papers and Passport at VFS
10/25/11 - Interview Cleared Successfully (Spouse was not allowed in)

NVC: (90 days from NOA2 to Consulate)
08/31/11 - Case Completed (Interview 10/25/11) - Received at Chennai on 09/19/11
07/22/11 - NVC Case Number

USCIS: (92 days)

6/21/11 - NOA2 (NOA1 on 3/25/11) - took a month to get to NVC
3/21/11 - I-130 sent to USCIS Lockbox, Chicago.

My case was completed on Sep 23 and I also can still log in with no SIF so that must be the new thing I guess. I have been told me numerous operators and the AVR that case is complete

2/13/2010: Met in Korea

1/21/2011: Married in Tacloban City

USCIS (135 days)

2/23/2011: sent I-130 and I-129f

3/6/2011: received NOA1 for I-130

3/16/2011: received NOA1 for I-129f

6/17/2011: received NOA2 for I-130 and I-129f

NVC(74 Days)

7/18/2011: NVC received and case number assigned

7/20/2011: NVC Administratively closes I-129f

7/30/2011: emailed DS-3032

8/24/2011: FINALLY received AOS Fee and PAID also sent DS-3032 for the third time (PAID on 8/25)

8/26/2011: Received DS-3032 Acceptance email

9/01/2011: Received IV fee and paid (PAID on 9/02)

9/07/2011: Delivered I-864 and DS-230 to NVC (mailed on 9/06/2011)

Same here. Monday Sep 26 I get an email message saying all documents required received at NVC, and Wednesday Sep. 28 the operator confirmed my case is complete at NVC. But I can still log onto the payment portal.

thanks guys so much for replying!!! yesterday we received interview date for Nov 1 at 2:30pm. I checked payment portal again today just in case and I am still able to log in but who cares!! right? I got what I wanted which was interview date!! :))
