There is information about package 3 and 4 here

http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Australia&cty=Sydney

However be aware that this may be out of date - I think things may have changed a bit. But it gives you an idea of what to expect.

I'm stunned. Look what Rob found in the mail box today.

And for what it's worth, no change to my status on uscis, no email alert and no mobile alert.

Now just the citizenship hurdle to go!!

Don't know how many of you care but Ancestry.com.au is having a "free" day where you can access immigration records. My dad and his mum came over sometime in the early 1900's and hopefully I can find the record of it. VERY AWESOME!! It might take a while though :)

Visa approved! The folks at the Sydney consulate were very nice, and the interview was short. But we were stuck waiting for two hours. Argh! Great view though. I will write a review later, we're off in a bit for dinner at Darling Harbour to celebrate.

The brouhaha with the police certificate was over nothing, as they never uttered a peep about it. So I conclude that the NVC is sadly misinformed and spreading misinformation on this score.

Best of luck to everyone out there, and thanks for all the help here.

Hello everybody - long time no see! Just popping in to say hi and see how everyone is getting on. My life in a nutshell - baby girl is now 13 months old and a total ratbag! We're heading back to Australia for 2 weeks on the 12th of the month so I'm incredibly excited about that - taking her home to meet the family! I work from home as an independent contractor so that keeps me busy during the day - and we moved into a bigger rental home so we're all a lot more happy these days! I'll be applying for my removal of conditions at the end of this year - can't believe how fast that is coming around.

Hope everyone is well and enjoying their new lives here in the US.

Take care

Carey

I got my EAD and AP (combo card) today! can try to apply for CA driver's license soon

Questions:

1. So it's common that one receives EAD/AP before the interview day?

2. I cannot leave USA before the interview right?

3. Been reading some horror stories of failed initial interview for AOS, but i wonder is it mainly for people from 3rd world countries, or big age difference, etc?

4. I need to go back Aus pretty soon, my initial AOS interview is Sept 25, i wanna go back to AUS early Oct. But don't wanna leave it to the last minute, after interview to buy ticket. Should I wait or not? I wanna buy now.

thank you guys~

1. Yes. That's the way its supposed to happen

2. No. You can leave and use the AP to get back in. AS LONG AS you don't have overstay

3. Well realistically anyone can have issues but yeah, usually people have red flags and they ignore them. I'm sure you'll be fine

4. You could BUT it may take a week or so to get the card. Sometimes longer (it IS still possible to get an RFE at the interview). I would wait personally but if you don't want to, make sure it's a refundable flight, or that you can at least change the date without a huge fee.

Back in the States after a 2 week trip to Australia. Husband and baby's first visits and it was just wonderful. The weather, the beaches, the family - true bliss! Loved coming back and getting pulled to the front of all queues at LAX as US Citizens (hubs and bubs are), funny being the only one in the family being fingerprinted though lol.

Sigh - back to reality. Time to start saving for a wedding there next year. I do love Australia still :)

Great news! I was back there for 2 weeks over Sept 13-27. It was so weird hearing Aussie accents. Glad to hear you had a good visit!
