So my fiance is in Scotland but he lived in Malaysia for over a year so he has to get the certificate from them as well as from the UK. The one from the UK has already gone through but the Malaysia one may take up to two months!! So we're looking at possibly November before we even get the certificate and then another month or so to get the interview?? Is that right? How long is it taking right now to get interviews in London? This process is driving me crazy! I haven't seen my sweetie since April (I know, I'm preaching to the choir) but is there any helpful information anyone can give me to help ease my mind? Does it really take 2 months for Malaysia to send the certificate and how long is it taking to get interviews in London?

Thanks for your help!

Unfortunately, it can take up to 2 months for the Malaysian police certificate to be ready especially since it now has to be mailed to Scotland. However, I got mine in a little over a month and I've heard other people reporting the same timeline. Hopefully you get it sooner than later.

Even that would be better than two months! Thanks!!!

Hi KrisandJennie,

I have a similar experience. My fiancee ordered it in July and got it mid-August I think. Then again, my fiancee didn't trust the government to send it to her in Japan directly, so she had them send it to her workplace in Malaysia, who then forwarded it to her. The certificate she got is also a very simple 1-page document which doesn't say much of anything! So I'm a little nervous about it being official, or official enough anyways! Hopefully that will not be a problem at the interview.
