NOA1 to NOA2 in 14 days--- Others wait 6 months and no NOA2 ??

I just do not get this, at the California Service Center (by all charts is the quickest) there are still people on this site that have no RFE’s that got their NOA1 in March, April and May and have not gotten an NOA2. Others getting their NOA1 in July and August are getting NOA2’s in less than 30 days, one in 14 days, with no special request to be expedited. I made the list below. I am only going on the Igor’s list on this site and I guess people could not tell the truth, but we are all here for the same reason and some may not update their information. I am really happy for the ones who got the NOA2, but I cannot understand how this works. I am going on the assumption that the USCIS goes by the date an application was turned in and when the NOA1 was sent, as to the order they process applications. So what happens with the one that form the NOA1 to the NOA2 in 14 days? Does it fall on the floor and get put on top of the stack? Do they know someone in USCIS or have an uncle that works for USCIS? I am going on the line theory; the first in line goes first, no taking “cuts”. From everything I have read here and other places it is pretty much useless to call and try to get answers, unless it has been over 5 months. I understand that the US Government is the most inefficient entity there is, but how can anyone justify one person waiting 6 months for something and another getting the same thing in 14 days? Can anyone explain how this happens, so I can do it? LOL

Maybe that was an expedite for military service reasons?

Those do happen and can happen quickly.

I'd suggest you stop playing with these numbers and just concentrate on the communication and preparations; to immerse yourself in trying to figure this out is a waste of mental energy and will only drive you batty....which it is doing.

It's case-specific.

As baron pointed out that could mean something like expedited processing because of military service or it could mean something like a delay to investigate a divorce in someone's past. Or, maybe, just maybe, it fell on the floor behind the desk. That's happened as well.

In the number of years I've been on here it seems sometimes there are just delays. Some people luck out and their case goes through extremely fast and others get unexpected and unexplained delays for no reason. It's just the way it is.

The good news is you have NOA1 so you know they've receieved it and they are processing it. The only course of action I can recommend is sending them an email. The way these things typically work is you'll get all worked up over it, email, call, get your congressman involved, etc., and the day you get all that going, it'll be approved.

Try to have some patience if you can. I know it's hard to do and it just doesn't make any sense, but that's the thing - it doesn't make any sense. Trying to be rational about it and crunching the numbers is only going to make your head spin even more. Wait it out for a few more weeks. It'll come when you least expect it.

Unless it was a military expedite I would question the accuracy of those lists, they are prone to "pilot error" and if you read the forums here, a lot, you will see that there are any number of people who have no clue what an NOA1 or NOA2 is.

The system you are using is unscientific, unregulated, uncontrolled and not monitored for accuracy. In my job I would never consider using such data for any purpose.

Baron is right, stay away from this nonsense, it is totally worthless, useless and non-productive. Get your documents ready for the next phase, ready things for your fiancee, she is going to need it. Stop watching the pot, as they say.

Since you are so new at this, use this regional forum to ask some questions. Most of us here have been through it a long time ago and you will get some great advice and tips.

Like the others said, don't waste your time wondering about stuff that you can't control. Just be patient and get ready for the next step.

Most of the guys in the RIB forum have had their wives here a while and they have done this.

What do you like to do? Shooting? Golf? Fishing? Whatever it is, DO IT NOW. It will get your mind off this and believe me when she arrives you are going to learn what "busier than a one armed paperhanger" really means. There is really nothing you can do now to make it go faster. Hopefully before you sent the petition you took the time to do it right to avoid delays. And you can get your interview documents ready now so that you will be ready for an interview right away when the consulate gets the case. That is the best you can do. Checking these silly timelines does nothing.

So go to work, enjoy your hobbies, communicate with your fiancee, work on your documents and then go to bed. It will come sooner than you think. Be cool. RUB chicks HATE whiners. That is their job.
