Hi,

If joint sponsor is in the military, do they have to meet 100 or 125% poverty guideline?

Does it make a difference if they are $140 short?

Can finance car be counted as asset or amount paid on it so far?

What military benefits count as income? (like free housing)

Joint sponsor just got married does it affect household size and income requirement?

Since he is just a co-sponsor he must to meet the 125% poverty guideline. Only military petitioner is eligible for the 100%.

Really depend on the CO and how hard he wants to be, could be an issue.

Assets are not counting towards the poverty guideline only actual income.

This is why military petitioners get 100% and not 125% since they get benefits like that, however will not apply in your case.

Yes it is as now he will have to count for 3 people and not 2.

Hope this helps

Thanks for your response,

I dont understand ''Assets are not counting towards the poverty guideline only actual income.''

are you saying no military benefits can be counted when filing as a joint sponsor?

Joint sponsor wasnt married before tax was filed so since that's the tax record that's been used why does the change in marital status affect the use of that tax paper (as per income)

if income received is less than poverty guideline what other way can someone in the military meet up the income?
