So, I called DOS today to check on our case.

We had to do two medicals, one was Sept 6th, the other was yesterday. The doctor said nothing would be sent to the embassy until yesterday - but then yesterday - the doctor needed another police certificate b/c he had sent the original to the embassy. So, today, I thought, I'll just call DOS and see if they have anything on file. To my surprise, she said that we were marked "interview ready" on Sept 15th - so I've done two weeks of waiting for an interview date without knowing I did!! Lol A nice surprise!!

Hopefully our interview date doesn't take too much longer to receive! I'm so excited to be this far in the process!!

Yay!!

So are you saying they kept his police certificate and didn't just photocopy it and give back the original for him to take to the interview?

They photocopied his police certificate on the Sept 6th medical, but, apparently already sent that to the embassy. So, when he went for his second medical this Tuesday, they didn't have the photocopy, and he didn't think to bring the original again as they already had it! So, he emailed it to them and all is well.

Back in the waiting game, however, it's nice to know that we have already done two weeks without knowing it. I know everybody is different, but is there an average wait time from when packet 3 is logged to when you receive packet 4? I was thinking it was about 4-5 weeks...

I think my packet 3 was logged on the 12th of august ish and my medical around the 30th. My packet 4 was processed on the 31st and the letter recieved on the 7th of september, interview for 26th. Hope that helps :-)

the embassy kept my original police certificate, not sure if they give you it back so maybe having copies is a good thing!
