So I got an email from Frankfurt USCIS saying: "We received your additional information and I am pleased to inform you that your I-130 petition was approved Sep 8. Your case has been forwarded to the Immigrant Visa Unit for step 2. If you already informed them that you are in possession of all required documents, they will send you an appointment letter within the next few days"

Then, I emailed Frankfurt IV and got a response from them 2 weeks ago saying: "We have received the Information that you are in possession of all the Documents and are ready for an appointment. As soon as the Administrative Processing has been completed we will schedule the Visa interview and send you the Invitation letter."

More than 2 weeks later still no letter. I call the Frankfurt IV Unit and they tell me that they haven't received the case from USCIS yet! ####### Who has my application? USCIS says they sent it to IV and IV says they haven't received it yet.

Does anyone have any idea where my application could be at this point?

I heard back from them 2 days ago. After calling USCIS and telling them that the IV unit wasn't processing my application because they didn't think they had it, I managed to get USCIS to send them an email saying that they were 100% sure that the IV unit had our application and should process it. The next day I got an email saying it was in the mail.

Moral of the story, keep calling...

In my experience Frankfurt USCIS is extremely unorganized. Our I-130 has been there since May and still has yet to be approved. I asked multiple times if they needed more information and was told no over and over for months, until a few weeks ago when they sent us an RFE  They received our further evidence this morning, let's hope it won't take them forever to process it...

When did you begin your I-130 there?

07-06-2003 - Started Dating

04-21-2009 - Got Engaged

04-24-2010 - Got Married

04-20-2011 - Filed I-130 at Amsterdam

05-20-2011 - Our I-130 was sent to Frankfurt for further processing

05-20-2011 - Waiting

06-20-2011 - Waiting

07-20-2011 - Waiting

We began in late June and got an RFE in early September. About a week later the I-130 was approved and then the immigrant visa section lost it for a few weeks before scheduling the interview.

I would recommend calling/emailing them in a few days to confirm that they received the RFE response and to check on the status of your application.

Best of luck!
