Guys,

I have 2 Questions which might be best answered who are already done with this journey for IR1/CR1 for their wife/husband living in Bangladesh.

A) Once the NVC approves the case, approximately how many days/weeks after do you get the interview date from the Bangladesh consulate?

B) What is the usual time line from NVC Case approved till the interview date (weeks/months)for Bangladesh consulate?

Thank you all in advance and best of luck!

I can't give you a definite answer but I can share how long it took my case from NVC approval to interview to give you an idea. My case for my husband was completed by the NVC on June 20, 2011 and we were notified on June 27, 2011 via email about his interview date which was on Aug 15, 2011.

Good Luck! :)

Thank you tr3sh4 for your prompt answer. I'm thinking it takes quite long then for the interview...this is upsetting. Anyhow, another question for you. Can you tell me how long did it take to close the case with NVC from when you sent the AOS and IV DS-230?

Thanks again!

Your Welcome! I sent in my AOS on May 20, 2011 and my IV DS230 on June 6,2011 and NVC completed my case on June 20,2011 so it took about 3 weeks from sending in my DS230 to having my case completed!

I had a delay sending my DS230 form because I didn't have the police clearance for my husband from Bangladesh. First he had to send it to me via DHL and then I sent in my entire DS230 packet.

So make sure you have your police clearance ready along with all necessary documents (copies and originals) to be sent in!

Regards.

Just like Tr3sh4, I would not make a statement, but this is what my experience was:

A. My case was approved by NVC on May 27, 2011 and I got the interview date on July 25, 2011. Approximately 2 months (I was notified on 1st week of June) Oh well, I guess that answers B as well

Here is what you will hear from NVC (and I think I posted this in one of my previous mails); they will contact the local embassy after the 15th on each month with the approved case. The Embassy sends them a response on what they can accomodate the next month. What Embassy can NOT accomodate on that month will be moved for the next months list. Of course, that doesn't mean the moved ones are treated as a new approval, rather there is a serial where the priority goes with the serial. Let me put this to an example:

Say for example, there were 100 cases approved in June. After July 15, NVC will send this list of 100 to the embassy. Embassy says, we can only process 75 (the first 75 by approval date) and sends the 25 back. NVC approves another 50 cases in July. They will reach out to embassy with the list of 75 (25 from June and 50 from July). Embassy say's hey, I can accomodate only 50 (or all, or what not). Out of this 50, 25 will be from June.

Dos that makes sense?

Thank you both again for sharing your experiences. I just hope this long and tiring emotional journey ends soon. Surely this takes a heavy toll on a lot of things! But thanks to this forum and helpful people like you all who has made it easier, which also helps to look forward to the light at the end of the tunnel. My NVC case completed today, so it took a week (which I think was quick) after sending them the DS230 and AOS but unfortunately they couldn't give me an interview date yet and said there is no available date on Oct. Eid and Thanksgiving being on Nov, I have now no idea when they will schedule the interview. I just hope and pray for a quick positive outcome. Please keep me and my wife in your prayers! Take care all and good night.
