I petitioned my mother to come here in the US. I submitted the application and all known supporting documents with it in April 2011 but in

1.)July I received a Request For Evidence (RFE) asking me to show the evidence my connection to my mother so I sent them her Birth Cert, Marriage Cert and my Birth Cert , and as secondary evidence I sent them my mother's gov't issued IDs (for reference) and some old photos of me and my mother. But after 60 days

2.) I again received another RFE asking me to send another set of secondary evidence because "the birth document did not clearly state the registration of the purported event". I am still in the verge of gathering church records with our names in it, etc. etc.

- MY QUESTIONS are about photographs because I believe I have them now. I have scanned copies of photos during my 1st Holy Communion, 2002 New Year Celebration with her, they are not film-dated but we can be both identified on those I will just need to label them.

- SO CAN I DO THIS?

- CAN I JUST USE THESE SCANNED COPIES AND NOT THE ORIGINALS? All of them are still in Manila, PHIL. I just asked them to scan them and email them to me, these are the things I sent them.

Also, I have digital copies of my wife's wedding pictures (and some other occasions) with some of which are with my mother. With this digital files I can extract the exact date & time the photos were taken, I just can just print them out and label the pictures. In filing for petition,

- HOW CAN I USE DIGITAL COPIES TO SEND THEM? Because what I did the first time was to print them out, now my plan is to lay them out like in a microsoft word and labeling them properly (with enough reference) so they can be guided in identifying us in those photos.

Thanks Guys, I'm planning to submit these things next week because the process has taken so long, I started April and it's almost Oct already. If I miss anything just tell me so. Any or all help will be greatly appreciated!

ok i can help with your Q......i went through the same RFE.......as my BCertificate was registerd 29 yrs late.. :)

what i did was send photocopies of all kinds of documents which have me and my mothers name on it.....

Like :

my passport have my parents name

my moms bank passbook mentions my name as her nominee...also the address was the same ...where we lived together back in india

my insurance certificate which had my moms name as beneficiary etc etc

and all other things which we could get which had both of our names.....(even better if it mentions the relationship)

and then i send photographs.....starting from the earliest available(in my case i was 7 mnths old) to the recent one, which we took before me immigrating to usa.

all photographs were pasted to the A4 papers and then i mentioned the time date and the occasion the photos was taken for..

so the summary is that...you have to make sure that, all the evidences should make the official satisfied, that you are bringing your own mother and not any other person from your birth country.

hope it helps you.

i just got one RFE for secondary evidance

and i send all the above

and the I 130 was approved in 4 days after the submission RFE

OK I GUESS THIS MAY HELP BASE ON MY OWN EXPERIENCE: BEFORE SUBMITTING ALL REQUIRED DOCUMENTS ON FILLING I-130 MAKE SURE YOUR BC AND YOUR PARENTS BC ARE MATCH. LIKE CHECK THE PLACE OF BIRTH, DATE OF BIRTH, ANY TYPO ERROR & ETC. IF ANY OF THOSE DOC HAS ERROR THEN NEED TO HAVE JOINT AFFIDAVIT FROM AN ATTY. IF THEY CANNOT READ THE BC OR MC CLEARLY THEN YOU ONLY NEED A BC AND MC FROM THE REGISTRAR OFFICE IN THE PHIL. AS A SUPPORT DOCUMENT TO THE BC'S. I DID NOT SUBMIT ANY PHOTOS IN MY PARENTS APPLICATION COZ THEY ONLY NEED PHOTOS DURING THEIR VISA INTERVIEW.
