Canadian citizenship application for student studying in USA

I became eligible to apply for canadian citizenship last year after completing 3 yrs as a permanent resident.

I applied for citizenship and came to USA to puruse studies on a student visa. i received a notice from cic to appear for a written citizenship test and went to give the same in august this year.

i then received a letter from cic asking me to fill a questionnaire and provide a proof of my ties to canada, including utility bills etc.

is this a standard procedure? i did not keep any of my utility bills, lease agreements etc. so any advice on how to proceed would help.
