I don't like or not like people based on their race, religion etc.. I base it on what type of person they are... you can't just lump people together :P

But - this is an AJ-led-poll. There's some lumping involved, I think so ;)

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

So what if a person said they liked you because you were white? Or solely because of your religion, or other trait that should not matter?

Well, I'd rather they liked me than hated me!

Right. I think it would be clear to reasonable people that 'Yes' is the neutral answer here. The lack of the word "all" in the poll title seems a convenient excuse.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

I actually think "Don't Care" is the neutral answer. How is "liking" or "disliking" someone because of their religion neutral?

Who said anything about it being because of their religion? "I like Muslims" is a true statement for me. There are some Muslims I like. There are some I dislike. "I don't like Muslims" implies a dislike of all Muslims, which would necessarily be because of their religion.

Do you like vegetables?

Somehow I think this poll was designed for this line of argument.

If you read up on the latest reports regarding the training of FBI agents, you'll have to realize that the consensus is that if you eliminate all Muslims from the pool of potential terrorists, there would only be a handful of crazy people left. I dare to imagine that excluding all foreign Muslims from the United States (as impossible as this would be) would bring terrorism on U.S. shores to a screeching halt. Game over.

On the same token, 9//11 would have never happened. Not every Muslim is a potential terrorist, of course not, but with very few exceptions, every terrorist that is out to harm the United States is a Muslim.

The problem is not the Muslims' religion per se, as that is only part of the Judeo-Christian line, but the implied actions that lure extreme fundamentalists to do things that promise them martyrdom and all those yummi virgins as a reward.

There are now quite a few Muslims against Jihad, and I like to compare this to Jews for Jesus. They are not being accepted by their peers and seen as traitors of their religion.

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic . . . . There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.
