Man asks Obama to raise his taxes at town hall

Following in the footsteps of billionaire investor Warren Buffet, former Google employee Doug Edwards asked President Obama to raise his taxes at a town hall meeting in California Monday.

"Would you please raise my taxes?" Edwards asked, a request that drew applause from the audience. "I would like very much to have the country to continue to invest in things like Pell Grants and infrastructure, and job training programs to make it possible for me to get to where I am. And it chills me to see Congress not supporting the expiration of tax cuts that have been benefiting so many of us for so long."

Obama told Edwards, a major donor to Democrats over the past decade, that he wanted to take tax rates back to the rates in the 1990s.

"We all benefited somewhere from somebody making an investment in us," he said. "If we make those investments how do we pay for it?"

UPDATE: From Michelle Malkin - The questioner is one Doug Edwards, an early Google employee who is retired and who has given gobs and gobs of cash to the Democratic party.

via Tim Carney: It seems relevant to point out that this rich liberal is Doug Edwards from the Obama-friendly and regulation-friendly Google. Edwards has given $300,000 to politicians since 2000 — every single dime to Democrats.

Now that pathetic amount of money (a million or 2 a year) should not go towards paying down the debt. I think we're paying about a million dollars every 15 minutes in interest on the debt. So it's literally nothing.

I like the national lottery idea for this small sum of money though.

The first thing I thought when I saw this assclown on the news was that nothing bars him from giving all he has to Uncle Sugar towards the laughable goal of retiring the national debt. Why raise taxes for the rest of us when so many civic minded rich liberals are just begging to give it all away to their Messiah to piss away as he sees fit?

The fact is that such cheap and corny contrived photo op political stunts like this just makes these people and Obama look even more like the assclowns they really are. Are these people for real? Nope! They are just figments of their own imaginations.
