Hi all, OK so last week I got APPROVED!!!!

I am flying to USA on October 6th (IF Passport gets returned in time!)

We are planning to go to Vegas on 7th Nov to tie the knot in style with both out families attending.

My questions are

1. What do I need to get Married?

2. I read I need a SSN, is this true?

3. I was told to leave it 2 weeks before going to apply for an SSN, does this leave me enough time to get it returned to me for the Nov 7th Wedding?

Am just a little concerned as flights have been booked and arranged and now I hear I may not have the necessary documents (SSN) to proceed.

Please help anybody that can.

You don't need SSN to get married in Vegas. This is one of the cities that will mary you no matter what. As long as you and your fiancee have a passport you will be good to go.

I am telling it as a long time Vegas resident. Lived there for over 8 years, and marriages are just jokes there. How about a drive thru wedding?

Hey thanks for replying so quick, but it will still count as a legit wedding that will satisfy the K1 requirements??

We cannot afford a big one so we thought we would have fun with it then do it properly in a few years when we have the money!

Yes it is. As you still get the marriage certificate and everything. So you are good to go. Just make sure to have a passport with you. Nevada is one of the states that have no residency requirements to get married.

yep... thats sounds about right.. in Travis County Austin, Texas.. i asked awhile back what is needed for my bride from another country.. they said just a passport and s smile from her .. i needed SS number, id, $70 for licence.. but once you get the paper.. there is a 72 hour wait... THEN you get married and file it back.. VEGAS, probably does not have a wait time :)

We were there about a week. We just sent out wedding invites and had informed everyone as far in advance as possible when it was going to take place, and everyone just turned up! It was really cool to have both families there together. I go to Vegas a few times a year, in fact I'm going next week, looking forward to it :) Wouldn't want to crash your wedding though :P
