When we go hoggin up here in Alaska the weapons of choice are a case of beer along with a fifth of tequila and a box of condemns...hotel rooms are an extra that are only needed if it's raining/snowing and you don't have a canopy on the back of your truck.

If Bristol's like any other Alaskan gal then she was bagged in Jr. High.

Asked of a guy in rural Alaska...

"What do you do for entertainment around here?"

"Huntin' n' f*ckin'"

"Really, what do you hunt?"

"Sumthin' ta ####!"

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

My buddies used to have a trophy for who could shoot the biggest moose. One night a month they'd go huntin' and the trophy would get passed on.

A guy, kinda a hippie throwback decided to get back to nature and headed off into the bush to get away from society so to speak.

He'd found a nice remote cabin site and had really taken to the subsistence lifestyle. The nearest neighbor he knew of was about 10 miles as the crow flies and he kept in tune with the world by listening to KFAR.

After a few years though of not interacting with folks much, he began to yearn a bit for some socializing and discourse with someone other than his dogs.

One day, shortly after freezup when travel in the North is not quite so difficult, the dogs began raising heck in the lot so he went out to investigate. Standing on the edge of his lot, out of reach of the dogs was an unfamiliar fellow who was quite obviously a kindred busher. He called off the dogs and welcomed the guy into his cabin and offered the obligatory tar-black coffee.

Sipping his coffee and clearly trying to recall his communication skills, the stranger grunted "thanks"

With the verbal blockage cleared, the stranger mulled over what to say. " I'm your neighbor from 'cross the valley." "Come to invite ya to a lil party on my lot on Friday night"

Now it had been years since he'd been out anywhere and the prospect was quite enticing so he decided to show some interest to the stranger, "What kind of party friend?"

"Well" the stranger said, "gonna be some drinking"

This was beginning to sound like a good excuse to get out.

"Gonna be some gambling" the stranger continued

This was sounding better and better he thought as the stranger continued.

"prob'ly 'gonna be some fightin''

"but the best part is 'gonna be the dancin' and screwin'"

Now that was just the perfect way to spend an evening he thought as he struggled to remember just how long it had been since he had indulged in any of those social activities. Thinking that he should show some interest before rudely jumping at the opportunity to accept the gracious invitation, the only question he could think of was "Who is going to be there?"

"Why" said the stranger rather offended that the invitation was not accepted at face value, "it's just gonna be you 'n me."

Yes it will. Use Redfield type scope mounts that let you turn the scope right off the thing though. Does it have iron sights?

Just bought a Remington 700 SPS Varmint in .308. I bet that'll kill a hog!

After being delayed by the federal government during NICS checks (just like every other time I try to buy a new firearm) we decided to go with something else. Ended up getting a Model 70 featherweight in .30-06.

It should (er, um, I should) be able to kill a hog nicely with that thing.

Yes it will. Use Redfield type scope mounts that let you turn the scope right off the thing though. Does it have iron sights?

It is now my brother's. We bought it for him and presented it to him at his bachelor party.

I'm not sure what mounts or scope he's going to get but he was already shopping for it last night. No irons. Came drilled and tapped though.

I use gopher gassers.

I hear Tannerite works well too.
