The US Embassy is flooded right now, I would not count on it being open for a few days at least... The water is chest deep at the gates... Who knows about the inside of the buildings. Better plan on rescheduling, I have a feeling it will be closed for the rest of the week.

This is from the US Embassy Manila's Facebook page.

The Embassy will be CLOSED to the public tomorrow, Wednesday, September 28, due to the heavy storms brought by Typhoon Pedring. The Embassy anticipates re-opening on Thursday, September 29.

Non-Immigrant and Immigrant Visa appointments for Sept. 27 & Sept. 28 will be re-scheduled for a proximate date. The Embassy’s call center will contact all affected clients.

hello everyone! we were there this morning and they could have just told us to go home. they waited till roxas blvd got all flooded and then they told us to leave. darn it.

anyway, they issued a statement that they are going to be closed until tomorrow. so since ur fiance's interview is on the 29th i guess they're open by that day.

Hi everyone, my fiancee has her interview by 29, i was wondering if the storm last this long and for example manila is under signal number 2 or 3 will they cancel her interview?

MANILA, Philippines -- The United States Embassy in Manila will remain closed Wednesday after it was hit by a storm surge from typhoon "Pedring."

In a statement, the embassy said it will open on Thursday and American citizens in need of emergency may call the embassy switchboard at 301-2000 for any assistance any time.

"Non-Immigrant and Immigrant Visa appointments for these two dates will be re-scheduled for a proximate date. The embassy's call center will contact all affected clients. Our thoughts and prayers are with all those affected by the storm," the embassy said.

A typhoon would be a reasonable reason to send everyone home for the day and beyond. They have closed the embassy for lessor reasons. Let's hope they all get their butts back to work soon to approve your visa!
