I am in the same boat, sending our AOS in a few days.....

I was planning to put each bundle in a clear plastic bag (the ones used in 3-ring binder) or in a manila folder; also, with first page an index of the bundle and a cover for all, listing all 3 bundles and their contents.

And of course, a complete copy of everything I send

It doesn't really matter that much in the end. It's good to have them organized ina logical way, i.e. the documents that go with I-130 attached to that form, documents that go with I-485 attached to that, and so forth. Personally I avoid stapling them in any way, as they might need to be copied / separated at USCIS and the staples will most likely need to be removed. If I remember correctly, I put mine in manila folders - one folder for each main form and the supportive documentation for that form. Then everything in one big envelope.

i suggest to put AOS,EAD and AP all in one brown envelop, just like as the VISA PACKET we received from USEM, the one that we handed to immigration officer during our poe... no plastic/clear sheets, no staples, not in binder, no folder for each aos, ead and ap... i only have paper clips to put together important papers... attached here is my cover letter for aos/ead/ap packet... have the documents arrange according to what is listed in your cover letter...

I separated the I-485, I-765 and I-131 into separate piles. Then I put the forms in the order in which they were requested in the instructions. Then I put a binder clip on each separate pile and then into the one envelope.

This is what I did:

I put each application in the same envelope but each one was paper clipped into their own category. I put the cover letter of everything the envelope included plus the description of what i had intended, with the cashiers check right in front paper clipped. Then g 1145, then i 485, then my passport page, my i 130 approval, my birth certificate, translation, then the i765, then the g325, then the envelope with my medical (i693),then affidavit of support with my dads naturalization certificate to proof his citizenship along with his w2 and tax transcript for 2010. I can't recall what else i included.

It is important that you don't staple, because I read it online, I can't remember where i will find it soon. they say try to paperclip everything not staple. because!!!!.......when they get your application they take all of those and put it into a folder with those metal things in the top .....do not fasten anything do not make holes into anything. just paperclip them so it will be easier for them to file it however they need to file them.

And one note....when i had a lawyer review my application she said to include 4 copies of the g325...why? i don't know. but she did. and please note that if you make copies of anything do it when it is not signed because it can invalidate the document. so copy it when its filled out and then sign each individual one, that is if you do decide making 4 copies of g325.

I also read somewhere that if you have a copy of the i797, or the actual i 130, to write "copy" on them because they might confuse them with the original and charge you for some reason because they think you are applying for the first time, i asked the lawyer and she said it was safe to do so.

Also, if you are including your passport pictures, put them in an envelope and attach them to the front of the application.

I heard from someone that they put the pictures inside the little book they give you when you get your pics taken because it usually includes a receipt which states when you took the pics (and since you need those pics 90 days before applying its good proof) I did just that.

I suddenly just had a brain freeze. ahaha. if you need help keep posting :)

The G-325A used to be 4 pages. It isn't any more and isn't required to be. Your attorney was working on old information. Extremely old in immigration time as well. I AOS'd in April 2010 and it had been changed before then but was till 4 in Feb 2009.

The OP is AOSing from a K1 so no i-130. The I-129F NOA2 wouldn't be confused with filing for the first time (as it's an approval notice) but a black-and-white photocopy is sufficient to avoid confusion.

I did my photos using this site: http://www.epassportphoto.com/ No receipt as it's not required. Was significantly cheaper than getting them done at walgreens and what not. Was insane when she told me the price :S So I said "no thanks" and found this site.

Some people just use a ziplock baggie (I did) for the pics.

Oh wow. haha, well if they need it they'll take it if not they'll toss it :) But yea, I was just trying to make everything perfect i guess i didn't hopefully no problems arise from them. I did take the pics at walgreens because i did not want to take chances. haha, i included the receipt just in case, i don't thin it would hurt. but hopefully my hard work pays off. i seriously tormented myself over this whole process. I was very stressed. :( nd you're right about the prices, its so expensive for pictures!

We just mailed ours today and what we did was paperclip forms together as well as like items were paperclipped together (copies of passport, visa etc.) Then we paperclipped all items for each form together except for the I-485 we used a big clip. I kept all clips to the side and used one big clip to put the whole thing together.

Best of luck to you

Start with a good cover letter, put it logically in order, don't staple, put photos in baggie and write on the back to identify. attach baggie to paper with tape or staple and label it. You can tab or not. Be-sure to make a copy for both of you so their are two identical copies. Good idea to do AP and EAD so your work card shows as both items. Good Luck.

In Arizona its hot hot hot.

You're over thinking it - a good cover letter and then organize the papers in the order you list them in the cover letter. They just rip it apart anyway and send it to different departments when they receive it anyway.
