This is one of those area specific questions. Which city would you have an interview in--if you have an interview? For us in Denver it took 46 days for the EAD card to arrive and 87 days for the interview for AOS and then 2 days for the GC to arrive. So it was right at the 3 month processing time estimate. Some cities take longer due to higher volume.

I would not expect to work for about another 3 months or so.

Have you applied for a Social Security number? If not, you need to get on the ASAP.

Umit got her EAD/AP in about a month, then a week later, the green card.

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

WARNING: Phrases in this post may sound meaner than they were intended to be. Read the Adjudicator's Field Manual from USCIS

Getting your EAD generally takes between 2-3 months after filing. It does vary by area but you'll find that in areas that are slow, typically what types a long time is getting the biometrics and then you'll get EAD approval almost immediately afterwards, whereas in quicker areas you may have your biometrics appointment right away but then wait another month for EAD approval. So 2-3 months is pretty standard no matter how quick or slow your office is, though of course it is no guarantee.
