How does NVC contact the beneficiary after NOA2?

That's not true for IR-1/CR-1 cases. For K-1 cases, you zip through NVC without sending packages, but it's the opposite for spousal visas. NVC does send emails and packages are required. The embassy doesn't play a part until AFTER a case complete at NVC.

wow I was waiting so hard for my meeting to be over with to reply to that comment ESPECIALLY waiting now for an interview at PAP i would know how long it takes for CR1s to get an interview date because from what I understood the Original post stated that the I130 application was approved. so thank you Saylin for answering... Goodnight people

From my understanding nvc is just the transfer unit to the consulate. it very well may be different for ir-1, but im unsure why a bureau located in the US would be contacting beneficiaries all over the world. Additionally, The canadian embassy may contact you, but it has been my experience the Haitian one doesn't. Just stay proactive, pp.

It's definitely different for IR-1/CR-1 cases. There's two fees to be paid, and then two packages to be sent to them. They're reviewed, and once accepted, the case is closed at NVC. An interview date is scheduled by NVC, and then the case is sent to the consulate/embassy. Then IR-1/CR-1 applicants just wait for their interview after having their medical done. No communication between the applicant and the consulate/embassy is needed.

Hi JoyDee

I understand where you're coming from as a K-1 Applicant however as a CR1 applicant also waiting in line for HAITI too. I am telling you since it seems you do not believe Saylin that NVC is the ONLY contact that we have they take the USC and the HAITIAN SPOUSE e-mail and PHONE numbers for all the processing. The K1 Path and the CR1 path are two DIFFERENT paths no matter what country your consultant is because As CR1s WE DEAL ONLY WITH NVC until we get an interview date THAT'S THE ONLY TIME WE GO TO THE PAP for any thing. In fact we do not deal with PAP until the day of the interview. That's what Saylin is trying to get you to understand. We are all here to help each other and because of that we can not tangle different informations together because it is what it is. K1 deals with Consultant where NVC is a rest stop and CR1s deals with NVC and wait there until interview is scheduled by NVC for the Country in which the applicant will have there interviews at so NVC contacts both USC and Spouse no matter what country they're in. good.gif

good luck with your journey. i wasn't trying to "tangle different informations together" i was offering my take on dealings with haiti.

I understand your path as a K1 visa i've researched and understand that path too but this is a CR1 case which is a different Path, my whole problem was when you stated this to the applicant:

Not exactly true about how long it takes to get an interview, see my timeline. It is best to actually request the expedite.. i had to do it twice before i saw action on my case.

NVC does not contact your spouse/partner. In my experience, it was better to email the consulate and ask them to email me the packet 3.5 or we never would have received it.

Call NVC for the case number. Email the consulate and ask them if they have received the case. Email the consulate to ask for them to send you packet 3.5

my understanding is K1s get their interview dates 1st because with you guys your journey is just started with CR1s we don't have to deal with USCIS for 2 more years or 1.5 years because we do all of our paperwork that you guys will be doing when your Fiances come with NVC NOW so that we don't have to apply for work permit we don't have to adjust status after marriage before 90 days or anything else that comes with that.We also don't get a packet 3.5 from consultant. ALSO PAP HAS A 4-6 MONTHS WAIT FOR INTERVIEWS FOR CR1s, I've been waiting like I said before since July and no word yet, I know that they're done scheduling for NOVEMBER which means I have to wait to see if I make it for DECEMBER or whenever, so we can not tell someone else that is on the same process as I that the wait is not that long to compare with your K1 timeline IT'S NOT THE SAME TIMELINE OR WAIT. we are here to help each other but we can not give false advice because that won't be helpful at all. That's the only reason why I replied back the way I did because of the misguidance. You have a great day. I wish you too luck on this journey.
