Columbia is 11th on the list of the top twenty countries of origin of illegal immigrants. Should the US not be concern about this when assessing the presumption of illegal immigration when Colombians apply for visitor visas?

I understand this is a generalization and may not be the desire of the father. This is why there is a process to weed out those who may abuse the visitor visa.

This white paper is from October of 1996... 15 years ago... last century. While the statistics withn regards to undocumented population orginally from Mexico most likely remain the same (due to geographic, economic, political, and other reasons), Colombia and other countries are different from 1996: i.e. in 1996 Colombia was facing the bloodshed of the drug war that today is more typical of Mexico. I am sure conditions are not great now and most likely Colombians still might make significant portion of the current undocumented population, but I would not base that "fact" with statistics from 1996.
