Hi, I have some questions about N-470 (application to preserve residence for natrualization purposes) application. I am a LPR since May 2009. I am currently visiting in China (from June 27,2011 till now). Recently, a company in California offers to hire me and appoint me to work in China. In order to preserve residence for natrualization purposes, I think I will need to apply for the N-470. On the instruction of N-470 application, it says one does not need to be in the US while filing for it. Does it mean I can mail the application and evidence from outside of the US? Can the hiring company submit the application for me and have the decision sent to the hiring company? What defines "qualifying company"? How long does the process take from applying to receiving the decision notification? Do I need to be physically present in the US during the application? Does anyone have any sample affidavit letter of employment in case the hiring company has never done such before?

Thanks a lot in advance for your help!!
