My wife's AOS case will officially hit the 6 month mark (since NOA1 date) this week..

Since the USCIS website says our local office is processing within the 4 month target, we went to an InfoPASS appointment at the 4-1/2 month mark to see what was going on. The agent we spoke to said the website was wrong (I have no trouble believing that) and that they were taking 6 months or so at our location. She said that since we were already at 4-1/2 months, we should be getting our interview letter within week or two since they give about a month's notice for the interview. We have heard nothing and the case still says it was last touched on 4/4/2011 so I don't think the interview letter never arrived...

Now, I am admittedly completely lost and am wondering what our next step should be:

1) call USCIS again (last called on Aug. 1) and this time demand to speak with a Tier 2 IO;

2) make another InfoPASS appointment at the local office, or;

3) contact my Senator for assistance?

This whole immigration process is getting very old....

We are in the same boat, September a bad month for them, it is the end of the physical year. At 5 months, they requested another 19 days and while I was working noticed a sign in the uscis doorway that they were moving their office in AZ this month. I do not think their site is accurate and my Senators office said we were within normal processing tines., but they sent an inquiry anyway. Hang in there.

In Arizona its hot hot hot.

Has your file even been transferred to the local office or CSC?

YMMV

We have no idea. At least, we never received any notification that it was ever transferred to CSC so I am assuming that it wasn't...

AOS isn't processed at the local office, its processed at NBC. Or its processed at CSC if you get transferred.

Its only sent to the local office for interview.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

Yes, but everything in the OP's case has finished processing, except the interview. If there is a hold-up at the local office, the last step cannot happen (if it is in line for scheduling).

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!

Either way, it's very close to being 2 months outside of normal processing (per USCIS targets and reported dates on the website) and we have no idea where the case is even located right now (CSC, NBC, or in local office). Even the local office agent's stated timeline of 6 months is now late as we are still without an interview date and looking at 7 months (minimum) as of right now.

I'm really beginning to think that something has happened to either the AOS packet we filed or to the contents of the brown envelope from POE. Maybe one or the other has been lost or, for whatever reason, they haven't been physically put together in one location and am at a loss as to how to investigate it. Everything so far out of USCIS has been a non-answer "answer".

Then I would contact senator / congressman at that point if it was me.

Yes, but, the OPs post from reading sounded like it was only being processed at the local office, I was posting to make sure they knew or others who read this knew that it is not processed at local offices but at the NBC.

What I was saying was that the processing time for my local office states "4 months". There is no I-485 processing time listed for NBC because the final step (interview, if needed) is dependent upon the caseload at the local office.

Anyway, I think a visit/call to my Senator's website/office is on the agenda for this week.

This is becoming ridiculous. The K-1 visa took less time to get (from filing the I-129F to visa in hand) than the AOS has (and the AOS after K-1 is supposed to be the easy part!)

I heard Orlando took very long so I am not surprised you're behind schedule, I know its hard but Id give it a few more weeks. Those websites are NEVER updated. Mine, for oakland park says "as of july 30"...for example....n400 filed on february...not only are we not in July, but the wait time was different for my dads case who filed even after february. My dads was filed in may and got approved with oath ceremony by early september, Thats why I don't even bother. You can't really make an estimate because theres different volumes of cases filed each month, so for one month a persons case might last 4 months, for for the next it might take them longer. If you really feel uneasy call USCIS and ask, thats what id do, and if nothing works again then the senator. I hope you get your things soon
