I just called USCIS on Friday and talked to a Supervisor. I was told that CSC is working on April petitions. I was also told that the website is not working properly and you may not see an update on the website. You might want to call USCIS. I find that it is best to hold on the line until you are transferred to a live person. Do not push any buttons. I asked to speak to a supervisor since the level one CSR's read off a script. Good luck!

It is the end of the fiscal year for all government offices. I have an idea of why the petitions might have slowed down for April filers. It seems to me that they probably started processing them around the time most workers try to take vacation.

The offices work on a variety of types of visas, it's possible they were reassigned to other areas to deal with worse backlogs. I also think the fact that VSC was so much slower could influence decisions like this - I can imagine that senior USCIS management wouldn't want vastly different rates of processing from any of their offices (something which was becoming apparent from the statisitics here), so they could have told CSC to back off a bit. Who knows really, it's the government, and it does whatever the hell it wants.

I really don't think VSC would ask CSC to back off. I think the government just tries to level out the petitions. We are not privy to how many employees are at each location and what priorities they are told to work under. I know, the wait is hard on everyone. I told myself it would take 9 months from start to finish, any time sooner is a bonus.
