Ok got it...good luck when you decide to take it.

@OP...When your wife applies to sit for the NCLEX, as part of the process she will be required to have her school send her sealed transcripts to the state board of nursing. The state board of nursing will determine whether or not the nursing school your wife graduated from is accredited or not. They will do this by evaluating her school transcripts. They will also determine whether the course work she completed in her school is adequate.

Did anyone else from her school ever take the NCLEX? That would be a good sign that her school is accredited. Of those who were accepted to sit for the NCLEX, did any of them have to complete additional courses?

The bigger worry for many international nursing graduates when they are applying to sit for the NCLEX is whether they passed their local boards, like the NLE in 'Pinas. Some states require you to pass the local boards before you can sit for the NCLEX-RN.

i am a nurse in the Philippines.,.. im just wondering what name did she apply.,? maiden name? my transcripts and diploma are all in my maiden name.. i just got married this year.. and im thinking to apply to california or

vermont this year.. thank you

im living in bremerton anyway..:)

My guess is that you would apply in your married name, but check with the board of nursing where you will be applying to sit for the NCLEX-RN. It's probably as simple as submitting your marriage certificate.

Chinook filed for both a change of name and for a change of address after she received permission to sit for the NCLEX, but before she took the test. There was no problem. I don't think you will have any problem either since the boards of nursing are used to dealing with international nurses.
