We stayed at the La Tour Centre-Ville which is literally across the street from the Consulate. It was kind of a dump (but not dirty, just outdated and worn out) but it was fine for one night and we could get a little more sleep since it was just across the street. We didn't spend much time there anyway as we were out and about.

I also stayed at LaTour. It was clean and comfortable. As sunshine said it was outdated but for a nights stay and the convenience of being right across the street from the consulate it was great. My only suggestion is DO NOT eat at the Chinese restaurant down stairs. I ate there and it was expensive and the food wasn't good. There is a little bistro place across the foyer that I wish I had gone to instead.

I was worried about bedbugs too...actually whenever I stay at any hotel I am worried for even the 5 star hotel can have them!!!

I also stayed at the La Tour and no problems. Like everyone else stated it's run down but I slept good and it is the closest you can get to the consulate!!! Can't beat that :)

Jeannie's right, the lil cafe is awesome...I ate a bagel and cafe latte after my interview it was awesome...and they hold your luggage too while you go for interview. Good Luck!!!
