if she has a permanent resident card in her maiden name and now wants to change to her married name she would have to pay a fee and file the name change form 1-90 450.00 dollars, why don't you wait until it's time to file your adjustment of status file all the forms in your married name, then when your approved you will receive the permanent resident in your married name, and save the name change fee.

Wrong! The OP has ALREADY adjusted status. You are referring to removal of conditions (ROC) which is an entirely different process and different forms.

Hello, my wife would like to take my last name. We were married last December and she has her 2 year green card. Is it possible to change her last name with the two year green card or do we have to wait for permanent adjustment of status? We live in Ohio. Thanks

She has ALREADY Adjusted Status. You are talking removal of conditions (ROC). She has her 2 year conditional card, and will ROC to get her 10 year unconditional card.

Just write the married name on the ROC forms when the time comes and it's done. Don't bother filing the I-90 and paying the fee.

What if my fiance wants to change his last name before we get married so that I won't have to change my name twice?

I don't understand the question. is the MALE trying to change his name? Based on marriage? Or legal name change?

For instance, is his name Ben Smith and he wants to be Ben Jones, so that you, Mary Lee will be Mary Jones? Or is he wanting to change from Ben Smith to Ben Lee?

Topic has been moved to Removal of Conditions forum from K-1 forum as it appears the OP is referring to the 10 year card as the 'permanent' green card, obtained after Removal of Conditions.

Also, one post has been split off to start its own thread as it asks about a different situation.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
