Were you able to reach the embassy?? If not I would call the Department of State right away!

I would agree, it seems like the USCIS has re-affirmed your petition and sent it back to the consulate... going from a CR1 to an IR1 IS A GOOD THING, it means you will not be given a 2 year conditional green card, it will be a 10 year green card

It sounds like your case has been reaffirmed....congratulations!!!!!:star:

It takes a little while for the case to make it back to DOS and then the embassy. I would call USCIS and ask them about your case status. You should also be receiving a letter in the mail telling you that your case has been reaffirmed.

When a case is reaffirmed, it is sent back to DOS...who only forwards it to the embassy. It will not be entered into DOS's automative system, so you will have to speak with a person. When I went through this, I got clearer answers from the embassy. It took about a month before the embassy received the case.

After the embassy receives your case, they will contact you for an appointment.

Again, Congratulations on the reaffirmation!!!

Waiting.....Waiting....waiting....waiting....and more waiting..........

It is hard to say exactly how much time it will take. I kept calling the NVC and they finally told me that it had been sent....they never could give me an exact date that they sent it. From that point, I emailed the embassy. It took a couple of weeks after that before the embassy emailed me with an interview date. They can ask you anything at this interview as well. There is no way to know what they will ask.

It is very probable that they will give you another interview and they can ask you anything. The hardest part is that they can still put you in AP again after the interview. Inshallah this does not happen to you!!!

LOL I can understand :) i bet we could create an entire paragraph out of all the abbreviations for Visa!!!! :P

You are sooo right about that!!!
