Hello. Does anybody know the requirements for a Filipino to get a Qatar tourist visa if the host will be the one to finance the trip? Do I need affidavit of support and the host's bank statement?

I am planning to visit my fiance currently deployed in Qatar. I will just be there for about a week if ever I will be granted a Qatar tourist visa. He will be the one to sponsor the trip. Do you have any ideas of the requirements? Is it easy to get or approve? Thanks.

It is almost impossible for a unmarried filipino female to get a Qatari (or any GCC) visa if they are sponsored by someone who is not their immediate relative like husband, brother or father. I believe they are a bit more lax on westerners, but these things are subject to change with no rhyme or reason. My information is a bit outdated since it has been about a decade since I last visited Qatar. I tried looking up the Ministry of Interior's website but they did't have a lot of information there. Ask your fiancee to call the MOI and get information from there directly.

I agree with the previous poster, but your fiance can go to the tourist visa office (near the back of the airport across the street, sorry I forgot exactly the name of it) and find out what the requirements are for citizens of a particular country. I had to go to that tourist visa office to extend my tourist visa for an extra 30 days while I was there.

My husband is Egyptian but was working in Qatar when we met and I went to Qatar a couple of times, we got married at the Egyptian Embassy in Qatar. But since I'm a US citizen, I did not need a visa to enter Qatar and there was no fee when I went thru customs.

I hope you can get a visa and visit your fiance :)
