My fiancee got the mail by post yesterday stating the approval of our petition dated 19th september.We are quite surprised and happy about it coming weeks before we envisaged.Anyways,i will like people to advice on what is next for us to do since i am in Malaysia now and the filing address is Nigeria because i am Nigerian.Thank you all

Congrats to you. I have a noa1 date of June 16 the as well an am anxiously awaiting my noa2. Anyway now you have the dreaded long wait for nvc to assign you a case number after that it moves pretty quick, once you get your nvc number....:-)

THANKS KENDRA,HOW SOON DO U THINK THE CASES WILL GET TO THE NIGERIAN CONSULATE AS I AM STILL ABROAD AND WILL HAVE TO COME HOME I THINK.I WANT TO HAVE AN IDEA SO I KNOW WHEN TO COME HOME SO I DONT HAVE TO DO ANYTHING IN A RUSH AFTERWARDS

Congrats...You will most likely have an interview date for late December or January 2012. Your case will be at the embassy by first week of October (you can call Department of State on 2026631225 & ask for your NEW case number which starts with LGS...)and you can start emailing Lagos by the middle of October for an interview date. You must include the New Case # in your subject line. They are never in a rush to respond so don't take it personally. If after 1week you hear nothing just resend the email. If you want to have the interview in Nigeria then you must also get a police clearance certificate from EVERY country you have lived in since you turned 16 which will include Malaysia. So, do not leave without getting that document. Goodluck

Thanks s_r....i have been thinking of trying to get the police report for malaysia asap since it may take one month to get it and afterwards i return to nigria by end of october.thanks for the explanation and God bless you too

In a week u can call the NVC and ask for ur new case number and u can also ask them if ur case has been sent to the embassy. If u want u can go to the dept of state and download (for petitioner) what is considered pkt 3 lastly u only need police certificate from each country u have lived in for 6 months or longer after the age 16......good luck on ur journey
