I have flown into Ouijda. You still have to go through Casablanca. And it is a extra $400-500extra, hardly worth the price. And on my flight back i could not find any that was more then a 50 min layover to do a plane change. My bags did not make it with me. And it was the worst 50 min plane change ever cuz you have to go through customs and oujida aiport will stamp the passport and they want you to have your passport stamped there in casa and I had to show them where they stamped and it slowed me down. When I got to the terminal the pl had already boarded the plane. I would not choose to do that again. But the stewards from casa to ouijda was cute..lol

P.s. I am orginally from Michigan and have flown out of detroit that was the worst flight to morocco. We was having winter storms..omg so much turbulance. It was like a rollar coaster rid gone wrong, the whole flight.

When did you fly to Oujda? I know they built a new airport that has just been completed since summer 2010, and now it is international, so maybe I can get RyanAir or something from Paris, and bypass Casablanca. He says his sister flies direct from France. I am going to check. I am definately not looking forward to all the snow here, as I just moved back to Michigan from the south :crying:

Last time i flew there was Feb of 2010. It was a international airport then. But no flight from Europe flew in direct. So if Air France is flying in there now that would be great. But check to make sure first. I know ur guy said his sis does it all the time. But all that time could be in the very recent last year. And u will find out it still costs more to fly futher into Morocco vrs. Casa. It is the same way in Egypt. It might be cheaper to fly into Casa then purchase a direct flight from the airport there chaper. So check all ur options frist.

For our packet, I had a lot of info from the US. We sent it to three different places in Morocco (a friend's office, his house, and my house) just to be sure. We even broke one copy up into regular sized envelopes to see if that got there any better.

We ended up with everything in Morocco within a week: all three copies!

With packages, my advice is to never send expensive things or electronics, know they open and go through everything, and try to label things as old or used and worth under $30 or so for the total package to prevent customs from charging large fees.

As far as I know, in my four years in Morocco, all of the 30+ packages people sent me made it. There were a lot of flat-rate boxes that family and friends used: they worked really well.

Also, if you are REALLY concerned, DHL goes to Morocco and might be worth it for peace of mind with interview papers.

I sent the interview papers by Fed Ex International, because the last time I sent papers, it took more than a month for him to get them. However, it cost $126.00 to send this time. The papers have arrived in Oujda at CTM, and they called him and will hold the papers for him there until he can pick them up. It was sent October 1 and got to Casablanca on October 5, and was transferred to a local delivery company.

How unique that us ladies are from Michigan. I was raised in oilvet near Lansing area. And most of my family is in the Jackson area. Small small world..lol

Ok, well, I took the Greyhound bus many times from Grand Haven to Ann Arbor when I was in college, and we always had a stop in Jackson!

And we used to go to El Azteco in E. Lansing to eat, when visiting my brother and sister in college!
