I was flying Air india from NY-Mumbai, I brought some extra AA batteries for my MP3 at the time and they told me i couldn't take it on the plane(that was at the final bag check in before you board) I was told i would get them back when I reach Mumbai.

Once I reach my destination I asked the flight attendent that was at the door for my batteries, she looked at with a clueless look, What are you talking about, ( I guess someone wanted my batteries for their stuff and stole my for their purpose, really really cheap move), needless to say I never fly with them again.

lol.....that is funny :)

I have heard some horror stories from my co-workers about Air India, I have never flied them personally AC duct leaking or they would have some mechanical prob at NY and they dont have spare equipment at NY passengers got to wait until they can fly in spare or different equipment etc.

I liked flying with Jet, only bad part is they fly from East so it adds one additional transfer but being veg have good choice of food on flight, good choice of ent, good crew.

Air India JFK - DEL is OK, the food was so-so as well as the entertainment - the convenience of a direct flight makes up for it though. I prefer the Gulf airlines (Gulf Air, Qatar, Etihad)for food, entertainment and service - but not sure if they have any direct flights to India. When I have flown to Nepal I have always had a long stopover and it sucks when I don't have a lot of extra time. Solely for the experience Singapore is the best and it is the best airport I have ever passed time in - the food and shopping is great. The check-in experience at IGI airport in Delhi was an absolute nightmare the last time we were there - we arrived 3 hours ahead of departure and were still late boarding - luckily the plane was also late taking off(of course)!!
