Nanny traveling with US employers on VWP

Thanks for all of your views so far. I also emailed an immigration lawyer who backed up what the US consulate told me: as long as my main residence and location of employment is NOT in the USA and my trips are LESS than 90 days in length, no matter how frequent, then I am using the VWP as it is intended: to provide visa free travel for business purposes to an EU citizen eligible to use the VWP. All our trips are pretty spontaneous in nature, given my employers job, and are of course temporary, we always stay in hotels in various locations in the USA, mainly NYC, and our trips are never a uniform length, sometimes they are 3 days sometimes 8 weeks. I am definitely NOT trying to live there by stealth. I have a boyfriend in the USA in a different city, and although I get to see him every few weeks/months I am not abusing the VWP to see him. It's purely for my job. I go where my employers go and as long as I stick to the rules as stated, I cannot see that I am doing any wrong?

I asked the lawyer and the consulate about the B1 visa and they both said its unecessary as my trips are never more than the 90 days, so I am eligible to use the VWP. Should I need to go with my bosses for a 6 month trip then tha would be the appropriate visa though.

I would add that any entry is at the discretion of the PoE, there is no right of entry.

The issue here seems to be the frequency and cumulative length, the odd trip would not be a problem.
