Good Morning!

I had my i751 removal of conditions interview (divorce case) on Friday 9/16 I was approved by the officer and I saw her writing on my case approved. When I got back home I realized that she hasnt stamped my passport with the i551 signature. My i 797 form expired that day and I am starting a new job in a few weeks and I already scheduled an infopass just in case that I wont get the approval letter by then. what should I bring to the infopass? just my gc, i 797 and offer letter from my new employer?

I also called USCIS and they said that my case is pending, I am confused as the officer at the interview told me that she is approving the case and she also told me to hold my gc till I get the new one and then to send the old one back to them.I forgot to take the name of the officer and she took the appointment letter that I had for the interview. Is that a normal procedure or does it means that something is wrong with it? Also based on that how much time it usually takes to receive the approval letter? Should I be worried?

Maybe it says its pending because they haven't updated the system yet.

Stop worrying and making multiple threads!

It is a right thing that you scheduled an infopass appt to get a stamp just in case. I have never scheduled one, but if I were you I would bring all documentation I got from USCIS for my i751 case and passport with the green card.

Everything sounds right. We had an AOS interview and an officer also took our interview notice.

It usually takes about a week or two to get an approval letter/green card.

Thank you very much, my only concern is if the case can be denied after the officer told me she approves it. I dont have her name or a document that can prove that she said she approves it.....and will they stamp my passport without making problems or they can refuse stamping it ?

Why would they deny your case if they have already approved it?

If your status is under review, they will stamp your passport.

If your status is approved, they will stamp your passport if you explain that you need that stamp for employment purpose ASAP and you can't wait to get the new green card.

Why in the name of the Almighty should your case be denied?

Is there anything you want to tell us? If so, now's the time.

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic . . . . There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.

I just heard that even if the officer says approved it goes into more review, I might be wrong or paranoid but I just want to be over with the process.

After your IO interviewed you, he reports to his supervisor. Then the supervisor checks that your IO made a right choice of approving you. However the supervisor won't go through your case in detail since s/he probably has 5-10 times more cases to review than your IO.

In the worst case they can ask you to provide any additional evidence!

Actually, I'm suprised you didn't ask her to stamp your passport right there at the interview - usually they stamp the passport and provide you with a stamp that authorizes you to work and travel for one year - the green card will come 30 days from the date of the interview - making an info pass appointment might be useless because by the time you go to that appointment you are probably going to have the new green card in your pocket. Check the status online in couple of days to see if they changed it to "Card Prodcution Ordered" this will take about a week - once you see that change it will take approximately 30 day to get the new green card - on the mean time show your driver license and ssn to your employer and tell them the green card is on the way if they ask - sometimes they don't even care
