Hello everyone,

My wife will be going back to the Phiippines for two weeks soon, she currently has a conditional green card. When purchasing the airline ticket for my wife, what name should I have the ticket in? Her married name that is on the green card or her maiden name that is on her Philippine passport?

Thank you for any assistance,

James and Erma

Maiden name. She should show both her passport and green card when she leaves the U.S., then *only* her passport in the Philippines unless they ask to see her green card. She shows both when she gets back.

USCIS knows her, and the office here won't care about her plane ticket.

She should also look into the process of changing her name on her passport.

Care,

Bill

hi,

thats a good question, use maiden name and then she cannot use that (well they might look to that) green card to the arrival in pi.so she has to show the passport and plane ticket during her re entry to us need to show the green card, dont worry if the name on passport and green card isnt the same there is explanation for that, tell her to bring her marriage cert just in case, life is full of surprise, just being cautios, tell her good luck to the journey and be safe.

Either of it. Just make sure she have 1 copy (original is better) of your marriage certificate with her and greencard, she mostly gonna need that when she fly back in the U.S.

Chains do not hold a marriage together. It is threads, hundreds of tiny threads which sew people together through the years.

Either. And in either case carry a copy of the marriage certificate to show the name change. Not a problem, it is done all the time.
