Hello all, starting the process for my lady, k-1 visa and she mentioned to me RED RIBBON.She said that this is required for interview.I never saw anything like that on this sight and was wondering if anyone has experienced this.Question 2, about how much does it costs for all, BPI, medical, pay here, pay there, for the interview. Thanks this sight has helped me so much.

Yes, we had a red ribbon, too. For my fiancee's out-of-country police certification. It seems you must get the cert from the foreign country, have it sent to the PI, pay to have it translated, then comes the red ribbon part, kind of like certifying it in the PI as official, I guess.

As for the cost, plan on about $700 minimum to get a visa and medical and CFO (adding in some money for gas & lodging here). But that is just the beginning, because you then have the plane ticket, the exit tax, the airport exit fee, money for food on the plane trip (airlines do not accept cash in the US for food purchases, and only the Int'l part comes with free food), the marriage, AOS... by the time all is said and done, expect it to be around $4500 or more.

Red ribbon = red tape!

The US Embassy will never ask for a red ribbon authentication. The U.S. Embassy does not recognize "red-ribbon authentication" as proof of document legitimacy so its unnecessary.

That is for other countries like Norway,Netherlands,Korea and mostly countries from the Middle East. The embassy only requires basic document requirements such a BC from NSO(security paper),NBI etc as long as your fiancee have those she'll be fine. She doesn't need the 'red ribbon'.

I might add, that Red Ribbon makes some rather tasty cakes! But I think we're talking about a different Red Ribbon.
