Dear all :)

In 2008, I requested our civil registrar to change my name in my birth certificate since I discovered that my registered name was "babygirl", thus, everytime I tried getting copy of my BC at NSO with my real name to no avail. Thank God, after a few months in 2008 the correction of my name had already been annotated in my BC NSO copy.

My questions are:

Do I still have to get a copy of NBI with my previous name "babygirl" ? I never used this name eversince in all my records.

I now have my NBI clearance with my corrected / true name, will this be Ok?

Do I really have to produce my baptismal certificate ? Is this really needed ? I might not be able to provide this since that was long time ago and the church where I was baptised may not have a copy anymore since it was burned before. My family once lived in a war zone area while I was a little kid. All my siblings have encountered same problems with our birth / baptismal records. I have lots of official records / documents to show of my identity from child till now. Will my baptismal certificate becomes an issue during interview if I cannot provide ? Please help me, friends. Thank you all in advance. :)

You do not need a certified copy of your birth certificate and a police clearance from the NBI. You should get two certified copies of both.

You don't need anything from your church.

Ok I actually applied for NBI for both names using their new biometric equipment, just in case the CO will ask for it. But I will have to wait 15 days for the result of babygirl copy since it was "Hit". Thank you then I will make sure that I have both. God bless us all :)

About the baptismal record, I was just curious about this since I read it in one or two of the posts under consulate review (those who just finished interview) the pre-screener asked for her baptismal certificate :(

i had my middle name corrected also, i applied for nbi clearance a month before my interview and few days before my interview i learned i have to get a clearance with AKA with my wrongly spelled middle name (thanks to kenshaq).. i also have a hit that's why a i went to get a new clearance with AKA a day before my interview, i presented my interview confirmation and they released my new clearance 2-3 hours after... the pre screener and CO did not ask for anything, just make sure ur NSO BC has that court order printed on the side and your nbi with AKA :)

I have a huge problem. My NSO birthcert has been amended due to wrong information about my birth place. all my life i have used this birth place and this wrong birth cert. all the documents we have submitted... my birth cert, my passport.. everything had on it... birthplace "wrong". now, the nso have released my corrected birth cert.

do you think the embassy will question this? and what do i need to show them? just the court decree?

yes that's right. everything.. all my docs have the "wrong birth place"... now NSO have released the correct birthplace for me. my interview is in 2 weeks. oh well, guess i will jut have to pray. its been a very tough and thorny road. i dont know when this will ever end...

seems like we have the same problem but mine is I have 2 birth certificate..my first BC is my mother last name and different Birth place..But I used my 2nd BC and all of my documents under my father last name and I was also late registered. So, Since the issue is my BC I have to get another NBI certificate with AKA..
