hello everyone!!

i just wanna share my experience today.

this morning, i accompanied my son to SLEC for his daily medication. the nurse there said that he needs to take another sputum test on october 13 and 14.. i am kinda worried because he just had sputum test last week (sept 13 14 15) and i dont know why they have to do it again?

anyway, what really bother me right now is that as we were walking along maria orosa st., there's this American (as in puti) and he approached us and asked us some money. he said that his wife who is a filipina left him. the girl stole everything he owns ;( he doesn't want to go back to america because he doesn't have a family there. i feel so sad seeing him all dirty. but he doesn't want any help aside from the P20 pesos he is asking. i told him that we will accompany him to the US embassy but he doesn't want to.. i do hope whoever sees this topic and has seen the guy to please help him. i can't get him out of my mind. i feel so sad.

If the American wants help, he should go to the US Embassy. The US Embassy will help him get home to the US.

If the American wants to go drinking, he'll ask you for money.

This guy would rather get your money than get help.

Is he a big dude? i think i have seen this guy before... although he did not ask me money... but he sleeps right in the sidewalk with the homeless near 7-11 at padre faura st., i was a bit surprise coz the embassy is just a couple of blocks away... a friend of mine who lives in the area said that he always see him around...

ohhh i also have an officemate before who told me one day that she sat beside an american in a jeepney and the american told her that his job is to beg within makati area... he has a girlfriend in Quezon City who he has a kid and who doesnt know that he begs for a living...

Hey I was just curious about your sputum test. The nurse told you to get another sputum test? Nurses do not order procedures, they only do what they are told to do by a Doctor. I would ask the Doctor if there is another sputum test that needs to be done. As for the homeless guy, he was probably 20php short for a redhorse. Don't worry about him. He is a free man and would not change his life for anything.

hi :) yeah they told us that my son needs to get another sputum test this coming october. the nurses at the D.o.t area told us that cos i think they can check it thru the computer regarding the records of the patient. my son had positive sputum smear but we're still waiting for the culture. i do hope they will let him go with us in america or he will be left alone here in the philippines without any relatives around. and he's only 5 years old. whew. it really is very stressful for us.

i just read that thread about seattle2cebu. do you think the beggar and him are the same guy? gosh. my husband and i even spent like half of the day looking for him because we got so bothered for not helping him. we even thought of inviting him to eat somewhere. oh well. thanks for the info.

The worst case scenario for your son is that he'll have to undergo 6 months of treatment before he is issued a Visa to immigrate to the US.

Oh wow!!!! Seattle2Cebu once emailed me and asked for some money too. He got my email since at one point i met

his fiancee and when we were in Manila for the interview he talked to me if i can lend his fiancee some money while in Manila. He stated that at that time his fiancee "squandered" the money alloted for the trip however, when i talked to the fiancee she denied everything and that she has some money!

I think he really has some problems specially after knowing what happened to his fiancee when she got here...

That guy is homeless. A homeless person asking for money and that's it, is going to buy liquor with it. I am a Paramedic and have to deal with them everyday. They will not change their life for anything. They are free from life, bills, all the BS we normal people have to deal with. Giving money to a homeless person or feeding them is only enabling them to continue living the way they live.

I have sat and watch for about three hours, a homeless person collect an insane amount of money from idiots on a highway exit ramp. I will be willing to bet he made more money than I did that day. Obviously he posts there everyday since. One thing for sure, is that he always has a brand new pair of shoes on.

Inclusive positive. Could mean inclusive negative in one of the samples, or 1 positive in examples for active TB. I certainly will pray for you. Either way, it is protocol if that occurs.......
