Hello VJers,

Just want to share something with you guys. My petition was approved on August 29th. I received the hardcopy I797 form in the mail three days later. It stated that my petition was approved and sent to my listed consulate. I called NVC for three weeks and they didnt receive my petition until the 19th of September. Not to forget that each person I called gave me a whole bunch of run arounds. One person told me that my peition was in Kingston, jamaica. Then they told me to call USCIS. The Uscis representatives told me that my approved petition was in Jamaica and that not all I129F go to the NVC. Some are sent directly to the consulate because its a K1 visa and not a K3. I emailed the Jamaican embassy three times. Then I called the USCIS for a tracking number. Then a higher authority told me that every petition has to go to the NVC. So finally I called the NVC again and they said that it will take 20 business days for me to be assigned a case number. From looking at other timelines i havent seen anyone whose petition took this long to get to the NVC. Im so sick of this process. From waiting for approval to the NVC to get to the embassy then an interview date. Thoughts anyone?

Thoughts on what? Theres nothing you can really do, it is what it is.

Suppose you could always just quit the whole thing and forget about immigration stuff find someone who lives near you and then you wouldn't be sick of this or have to deal with this stuff anymore?

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

And supposed you dont say anything if there's nothing nice for you to say. you're already married so u can type anything you want. I'm pretty sure there are SENSIBLE people with human feelings that gets frustrated in the process of seeing their love one. maybe I should rephrase: Sensible thoughts anyone?

Hi FB14, Everyone's case is different. While some people may get everything done faster for others it's not.My petition was approved 6/17 and it was until the beginning of August did he received packet3, and a month and a half after sending it in I had to emailed them and tell them the situation, that I did not get packet4. You just got your petition approved so you have to be patient, Give them some time and then contact them.

Best wishes to u.

Hey everyone case is different but it shouldn't take that long for your case to reach Kingston. Most case gets there in about 5 days. Keeping trying to email Kingston maybe they are short of visa numbers that is the only way I can see them taking so long to assign a case number. Goodluck and keep trying.

It is my belief that they all go to NVC. When our petition reached the NVC it stayed their for quite sometime as we were delayed in what they called "Administrative Processing" I called everyday and just recorded the time, dates and people I spoke to. It eventually went on to the consulate. After that, things went relatively fast. Try to have patience and believe that your time will come soon. This is only one of the first steps you will have to contend with. You still have to get married and AOS. That will be a process too. Nothing is done before its time. Good luck on your journey! star_smile.gif

my thought: take a look at the timeline spreadsheets and you will see how arbitrary the mailing delays are. browse the threads and you will see how frustrated everyone is. phone reps give misleading info, based only on what script they have been given.

USCIS makes mistakes, NVC makes mistakes. Applicants make mistakes. Hopefully when everything is done electronically things will be faster and easier to understand.

For now, maybe focus on your personal relationship and improve it daily - b/c there's not a lot we can do to speed up the immigration process during the "wait" times.
