If you want to stop the AOS process can you get your checks refunded? I paid the -485 fee and the 1-131 fee can i get these back??

08-02-06 Met my hubby in while teaching in South Korea

07-17-07 went back to america/canada

01-03-08 Back to Korea for another year of teaching

01-12-09 back to america to stay and go to school

04-24-10 engaged in Mexico!!!!

08-29-10 start university in america on F-1 visa

02-10-11 EAD approved and OPT approved

08-06-11 Wedding day :)

09-01-11 sent in AOS package

09-14-11 received notice that all forms have been accepted

09-15-11 Biometrics appointment on Septemeber 29th

Why do you want to quit AOS? Everything from your timeline seems to be going fine! You would get the green card soon and be able to work back the money spent on AOS pretty quickly.

No to the money but you SHOULD cancel the I-864 so he doesn't get the GC (AOS from a K1 you can get the GC without interview).

You can withdraw the petition , but you will not get a refund . I am sorry to hear about your situation .

Why would you pay both fees? You can file i-485 / EAD / AP with only one fee?

oh wow what a shame to your husband. Withdraw the I864 most important than the refund.

October 26, 2010 - I-129F sent to VSC

November 2, 2010 - NOA 1 hard copy (dated Oct. 29, 2010)

November 5, 2010 - Touched

April 15, 2011 - NOA 2

June 21-22, 2011 - Medical (passed! Thank you Lord)

July 19, 2011 - Interview (passed! Thank you Lord)

August 11, 2011 - POE (JFK)

AOS Timeline

Sept. 26, 2011 - I-485 & EAD sent to Chicago Lock box

Sept. 28, 2011 - Text/Email notificaion receipt

Oct. 4, 2011 - NOA 1 hard copy for I-485 & EAD (dated Sept. 30,2011)

October 11, 2011 - Biometrics Letter received (appointment date November 2, 2011)

October 24, 2011 - I-485 transferred to CSC

November 2, 2011 - Bioemtrics done

Dec. 1, 2011 - EAD card production

Dec. 9, 2011 - EAD card on hand

Feb. 10, 2012 - Green Card production

Feb. 16, 2012 - Green Card on hand
